In Time
Dear You,
Maybe you thought you’d be further along by now.
Further into the plan.
Further beyond the hard part.
Further into whatever comes next.
Maybe you’ve been quietly measuring your life against a timeline you created when you had no idea what life would actually ask of you.
And now you’re wondering if you’re behind.
You’re not.
Some things take longer because they’re asking something different from you.
Some seasons aren’t meant to be rushed through. They’re meant to be lived through.
And I know that can be frustrating when you want answers. When you want to know what’s next. When you’re ready for things to finally feel settled.
But look at a flower as it opens.
It doesn’t pull at its own petals because morning has arrived and it thinks it should be further along.
It opens when it’s ready.
Petal by petal.
In its own time.
Maybe you deserve that same gentleness.
You don’t have to have everything figured out just because another week has passed.
You don’t have to turn every difficult season into a lesson before you’ve even had time to live it.
You don’t have to know who you’re becoming while you’re still becoming her.
And you certainly don’t have to rush yourself just because the version of your life you imagined had a different timeline.
Some things are still unfolding.
Let them.
Let you.
There are parts of your story you cannot see from where you’re standing right now. Things that won’t make sense until later. Things that may arrive differently than you planned but still find you exactly when you’re ready for them.
So loosen your grip on the deadline.
You are not late to your own life.
You haven’t missed your moment.
You aren’t taking too long.
You’re living.
You’re adjusting.
You’re learning.
You’re becoming.
And maybe instead of asking, Why am I not there yet?
you can ask,
What is this moment asking me to notice while I’m here?
Because there is life here, too.
Not just at the finish line.
Not just when everything makes sense.
Not just when you’ve finally become the woman you think you’re supposed to be.
Here.
Right in the middle of the uncertainty.
Right in the middle of becoming.
Right in the middle of your unfolding.
Give yourself permission to take your time.
What’s meant to open will open.
And so will you.
In time.
With love, always,
Maig
